Sujata Chatterjee, engineer by degree but a social entrepreneur by choice, is  founder of Twirl.store. 

Sujata is B.Tech Electrical and has further diploma in Managment. She has also completed Certification in Marketing from Cambridge University International and a Certification in Innovation Readiness from University of Austin at Texas. She is also an Alumni of GoldmannSachs 10000Women program. She has recently completed a specialization in ESG under Wharton Online,University of  Pennsylvania. Her previous work experience was in Hewlett-Packard (HP).

By her unique idea of Twirl.store she has been able to reduce wastage, conserve natural resources, provide basic clothing to thousands of needy people,  and ensure livelihoods for rural women too. Her vision is to re-use urban wastage and use to it as a means to empower rural communities.

She led her start-up Twirl.store to be the first organization ever to be formally recognized by Govt of India as ‘Upcycled Manufacturer ‘, a special category of manufacturing. In recent times, Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi has met and appreciated she is doing for society and environment 

For efforts towards sustainability, Twirl.store founder has received the “Devi Award” from the hands of Mrs.Smriti Irani,  Union Minister and a special felicitation from Mrs.Chandrima Bhattacharya, MOS, Govt of West Bengal. She is proud winner of “Rising Woman Entrepreneur” from Bengal Business Council, “Swayam Sidha” award by Eastern Chamber of Commerce , “Rising Women Entrepreneur” by Indian Chamber of Commerce, “Women on a Mission” award from hands of  Mrs.SudhaMurthy and many other awards. She has also  been chosen as “Industry Disruptor” by UNWomen and DO School,Berlin and has been highlighted as an exceptional women entrepreneur by UN India, appreciated by  Ministry of Textiles Govt of India aswell as mentioned by multiple media platforms. 

She is also President of WICCI WB Sustainable Businesses Council and EC member of TCG Chinta.

Sujata remains committed to benefitting both society and environment.
